How to Play Footy Forecast (World Cup Predictor)
Predict every match score before kick-off, earn points as results land, and climb the Global Leaderboard — or go head-to-head inside your own Teams. This guide covers scoring, lock rules, teams, and the fastest way to get set up.

⚡ Quickstart (60 seconds)
If you only read one section, read this. Footy Forecast is simple: pick scorelines for upcoming matches, then watch points roll in once games finish. Your picks lock at kick-off, so get them in early.
Heads up: if you’re logged out, you’ll be prompted to Login / Register before you can submit picks.
🔒 When do picks lock?
Locking keeps it fair. Once a match kicks off, your prediction for that match is locked — no edits, no “quick tweaks”, no last-minute wizardry.
If you’re the type who likes to tinker, make your changes early — then use My Picks to confirm everything is saved exactly how you want it.
If the match is live, it’s locked. If it’s not kicked off yet, it’s editable.
👥 Teams (create, join, and flex)
Teams are your private mini-leagues inside Footy Forecast. Create one for your mates, family, or work, then invite others to join and battle it out over the tournament.
You can usually be in more than one team, so go wild — just remember: the same match picks feed into everything.

📈 Leaderboards (global + your teams)
There are two main ways to track progress:
Global Leaderboard shows everyone playing Footy Forecast. My Teams Leaderboard shows how you’re doing inside each team you’ve joined.
After results land and points update, you’ll see positions change — that’s where the drama lives.
Want the cleanest workflow? Predict → My Picks (sanity check) → then enjoy the chaos on the leaderboards.

Do I need an account to play?
Yes — you’ll need to Login / Register to submit predictions, join teams, and appear on leaderboards.
When exactly do predictions lock?
Predictions lock at kick-off for that match. If the match is live, your pick is locked and can’t be edited.
How are points calculated?
Exact score = 3 points. Correct result (home win / draw / away win) = 1 point. Otherwise 0.
Where can I double-check what I submitted?
Use the My Picks tab. It’s your “receipt” for the matchday — perfect for a quick last check before kick-off.
Can I be in more than one team?
Typically yes. Your predictions apply across global and team leaderboards — one set of picks, multiple rivalries.
What if I miss a match and don’t predict?
You’ll get 0 points for that match. Jump back in for the next fixtures — it’s a long tournament and momentum can swing fast.
