How to Play – Guess the Score

Guess the Score is a prediction-style game where you try to call the exact final score of real football matches. Each round gives you 10 fixtures to predict.

🎯 Objective

Use the match details (competition, season, round, date and teams) to predict the correct full-time score for each fixture.

1️⃣ Reading the match info

Each line-up shows details such as:

  • Competition – e.g. Bundesliga 2018/19
  • Season – confirms which campaign the game is from
  • Round / Matchday – e.g. Matchday 3
  • Date – when the match was played
  • Home team vs Away team – the actual fixture you’re predicting

2️⃣ Entering your score

  • For each match, enter the number of goals for the home team and the away team.
  • Use whole numbers only (0, 1, 2, 3, etc.).
  • Submit your predictions for all 10 fixtures.

3️⃣ Timer – 5-minute limit

  • You have a total of 5 minutes to complete all 10 predictions.
  • The countdown starts when the round begins.
  • When the timer hits zero, you can’t change or add any more scores.

4️⃣ Scoring

  • Get the exact scoreline right to earn maximum credit for that fixture.
  • Depending on how you’ve set the scoring, near-misses may earn partial credit (for example, correct result but wrong exact score).
  • Your total over all 10 games gives you your final round score.

💡 Tips to boost your predictions

  • Use the competition, season and matchday to recall form and context.
  • Remember which teams were strong or weak that year.
  • Be realistic – derbies and big clashes often have tighter scores.
  • Don’t spend too long on one game; you only have 5 minutes for all 10.

About Guess the Score – Bundesliga Edition

Guess the Score – Bundesliga Edition focuses on real fixtures from Germany’s top flight. Each round gives you a selection of Bundesliga matches from a specific season and matchday, and your challenge is to predict the exact full-time scores for all of them.

You’ll see the season, matchday, date and fixture details for every game. Think about title races, European spots and relegation fights from that campaign. Was Bayern or Dortmund flying? Were there any surprise packages that year? Use your memory – or your instincts – to call how the games finished.

How it works

  • Each round features 10 Bundesliga fixtures from a given season.
  • Enter goals for the home team and the away team in each match.
  • You normally have a 5-minute timer to make all your predictions.
  • When time runs out, your scorelines are checked against the real results.
  • Exact scores earn maximum credit; depending on the settings, near-misses may earn partial credit.

Who is this mode for?

  • Bundesliga followers who know their German football history.
  • Fans who enjoy tactical prediction games rather than simple win/lose guesses.
  • Anyone wanting a fresh twist on classic score prediction using real Bundesliga fixtures.

Example fixture prompts

Each round uses real Bundesliga matches and gives you context like season and matchday. You might see prompts like:

  • “2019/20 – Matchday 7: Bayern München vs Hoffenheim”
  • “2014/15 – Matchday 22: Dortmund vs Stuttgart”
  • “2012/13 – Matchday 30: Leverkusen vs Schalke”
  • “2020/21 – Matchday 10: Leipzig vs Werder Bremen”

Bundesliga-specific tips

  • Goals happen: Bundesliga matches can be higher scoring than you expect — don’t be afraid of 3–2 or 4–1.
  • Season context: identify dominant teams and newly promoted sides for that year.
  • Time management: lock a realistic score and move on if you can’t recall the real result.
